The next day we headed off early as we had a big leg up to Burketown with a stop at Cloncurry for fuel.
It was the Harvest Moon last night and we got pictures of it in the morning as we left.
Just as we left, which was at 6:30am or so. We saw the sun rising and the moon setting. Pretty amazing sight.
First stop for fuel was Cloncurry. We didn’t get into the township, just fueled up and moved on.
On to Burketown. Below is our first views of the air strip and town off and up to the right.
Big day! Got to our digs, the local caravan park. Little donga but has air-con, shower, toilet, fridge and cooking facilities…. and beds.
Really hot when we got in, on the tarmac it was over 40deg and really dry, not much better off the tarmac. South Easterly blowing.
